The time has come...

  • Rutgers (+24.0 -110) vs Michigan

-My god this is so free… Rutgers has outscored opponents 95-30 in the first 3 games. Michigan is 0-3 ATS on the year and has been unable to turn on the jets against the 3 bottom-tier teams they’ve played (East Carolina, UNLV, Bowling Green)…The defense for Rutgers is the truth and they have a legitimate shot to win this game in the Big House. There is no doubt in my mind they will keep it close.

  • Ohio State vs Notre Dame (+3.0 -110)

-Absolutely love this matchup for Notre Dame. Veteran Sam Hartman and the insanely talented defense of the Fighting Irish will be a tough road test for Ohio State. We’ve seen Ohio State has difficulties putting up points on the road vs Indiana (23-3 OSU). I know this was the first game of the season but Indiana’s offense literally could not move the ball whatsoever. On 9 drives, Indiana’s offense punted 6 times, turnover on downs twice, and kicked a singular field goal. And you’re telling me one of the most “high-powered” offenses in college football could only put up 23 points. Seems a bit fishy. Give me Notre Dame, give me veteran Sam Hartman (24 years old), and give me that insanely talented defense to cover these 3 points at home under the lights. All day…

  • 24 Iowa (+15.0 -110) vs 7 Penn State

-Both ranked teams coming into this game with everything to lose… Iowa has covered this +15 point spread in their last five games versus Penn State. Their defense is absolutely elite and they have proven themselves on the road against a tough Iowa State winning 20-13. This game will go by extremely fast with minimal points being scored. Iowa is a ground and pound team and will use this game plan in an attempt to physically dominate Penn State. Last week, Penn State won by 17 points against Illinois (30-13). This win is very deceptive because Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer threw 4 interceptions, consistently giving Penn State great field position and every opportunity to score. With Iowa mainly keeping it on the ground, I don’t see the defense of Penn State playing a huge part in the game. This matchup is always a close, low-scoring one and everything is pointing in that same direction this year. Hawkeye time… Big hammer…

NFL Week 3 Insights

NFL has been the most predictable sport to gamble on so far. There is a code to crack with this league and I will be the one to crack it. Personally, I am up over 25 units to start off the season. Take it how you want, but with that being said, I present to you the golden slate of picks. Let me spoon-feed you $100 bills. I will take care of you. Here we go.

  • Kirk Cousins (MIN) O24.5 Completions -120

-First of all, I am the self-proclaimed king of this specific prop. I have gone 5-5 and paid my mortgage with this prop in the first two weeks. I will continue being very selective and only use it when I know its free. This is one of those situations. In his first two games, Kirk has thrown 88 passes, completing 64 of them averaging 32 completions a game. And the line is at 24.5? Doesn’t make sense. Let’s dive into this.

After losing Dalvin Cook to the Jets, the Vikings are trusting Alexander Mattison with their run game (which is not very good). Mattison is a mid to low tier back and is not a big playmaker. In his first two games, Mattison has 19 carries for 62 yards and zero touchdowns. Obviously the Vikings know what they’re doing. They want the ball is the hands of Kirko Chainz, JJettas, Jordan Addison, Hockenson etc… Their ACTUAL playmakers. The Chargers are a solid team that are 0-2 as well and hungry for a win on the road. With Eckler questionable, this game will easily be shootout. Give me Kirk with 25 completions all day. I don’t understand why the books keep giving us this line. HAMMER TIME…

  • New Orleans Saints vs Green Bay Packers (ML -120)

-Packers are at home in Green Bay for their home debut vs a very unimpressive saints team. Derek Carr looks absolutely horrible. I watched every snap of both his games and it’s impressive how he can continuously get worse and worse and the years go on. If Bryce Young had any sort of common sense the Panthers could’ve destroyed the Saints. Instead, the Saints are now 2-0 and are “appearing” as a good team.

Here is what most square bettors will think while looking at this line: “Wow, the Saints are actually good! Derek Carr is a veteran quarterback and the Saints are a phenomenal team off to a great start! They have so many weapons and will have a great season! I can’t believe they are underdogs to the Packers who just lost to the Falcons! Wow, I am going to hammer the Saints! I have no brain and enjoy losing money!” WRONG WRONG WRONG….

The Packers should easily be 2-0 right now. They have a very talented defense that will eat Derek Carr alive. The saints have zero run game except for when Taysom Hill comes in the game, which is the most obvious giveaway of all time. I believe Matt Lafleur is smart enough to see right through that. Aaron Jones should be good to go and the Packers will dominate. Lock of the week. Hammer time. Can’t lose. ALL OF THE ABOVE…. Let’s go Pack.

Daddy Djokovic Teaches Ben a Lesson

Two weeks ago on Sunday, September 10th Novak Djokovic claimed his 24th grand slam title and his 3rd of the year. The Joker won 21 out of 23 sets played in the tournament and dominated world ranked #3 Daniil Medvedev in the final 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 to claim the title. Prior to the start of the tournament, Djokovic was the heavy favorite to take home the trophy and it is no surprise to anyone the outcome. On his journey to the finals, of course the Joker had to give the fans the drama they always are looking for. And boy was it fun to watch..

In the semifinals, Djokovic took on world ranked #19 Ben Shelton, a 20 year old American from Atlanta, Georgia. Obviously the home crowd backed Shelton heavily throughout the match, and Shelton really knew how to get a rise with his big celebrations after points. Considering the circumstances of the match, these celebrations really “poked the bear” with Djokovic…

Shelton was down 2 sets on his last legs and about to lose the match in a straight-set defeat. Djokovic allowed Shelton back into the match by a few easily avoidable mental mistakes. Now, it is one thing to celebrate when you hit an insane shot and the match is close. It’s another thing to celebrate when the greatest tennis player of all time double faults on his serve and gives you a free point. Shelton showed his immaturity with his celebrations throughout the ass-kicking of a match it was. Screaming and shouting and emoting at the GOAT as a 20 year-old kid who hasn’t accomplished anything. Complete disrespect…

When Djokovic won the match after the 3rd set tiebreak, Djokovic performed a BRILLIANT celebration of “hanging up the phone”. This celebration just so happens to be Ben Shelton’s signature celebration. Absolutely hilarious from the GOAT. See below:

This celebration led to an extremely brief interaction at the net after the match was completed. 99% of the time, players will exchange positive words and chat briefly about the match completed. Not this time. No words were said between the players. Shelton was obviously very embarrassed after his own celebration was used against him at the biggest stage of his career. Djokovic was furious that a 20-year old with zero titles and a huge ego had the audacity to act the way he did throughout the match.

This interaction led to controversy across the internet. Of course, since Ben acted so immature, his father had to get involved and say publicly “And that’s too bad, for that to come from such a great champion”. So extremely soft…

MOJO’s Hot Take:

Well… If you couldn’t tell by the previous paragraphs, obviously I am a massive Djokovic fan. I root for Ben Shelton but it will take a lot to get me back on his side after his horrible showing vs the GOAT. The immaturity shown was ridiculous. Have some respect for Djokovic… The man has won more Grand Slam titles than you’ve won tour level matches in your career (fact check me on this one but it’s close)… What in the world are you doing freaking out screaming and hollering when the match isn’t even close and the only reason why you win the point is because the other guy messes up. Anyone who plays sports knows:

When you do something awesome - Celebrate

When you do something awesome and you are losing by a million - Don’t celebrate

When you are facing the GOAT of tennis and you win a point by him double faulting and you are losing by a million - Don’t make a damn fool of yourself…

Come on Ben it’s common sense. Champions act like they’ve been there before and you haven’t and definitely didn’t act like it. Don’t get me wrong, Shelton is an extremely talented player with a bright future. This doesn’t mean he can continue acting the way he does if he wants to be a great. Figure it out.

Champions League is BACK

It’s that time of the year for soccer fans. All the best soccer clubs in Europe will face off in the UEFA Champions League until a winner is finally crowned on June, 1st 2024… Here are a few highlights from Matchday 1 of the group stages:

Most Ridiculous Player Prop: Erling Haaland Any Time Scorer (-400)

If you are familiar with soccer, soccer betting, or the premier league, you definitely who Erling Haaland from Manchester City and you definitely know his goal-scoring prowess over the last year. He is one of the most electric goal scorers of all time and has set numerous records across the premier league at a very young age. Now, this line is absolutely absurd. I would say 99.9% of “Any Time Scorer” props are set at (+) odds. Meaning if the line hits, you win more money than you placed. Believe it or not, Haaland did not score and this line didn’t hit. Apologies to everyone who included this in some form of their parlay. Horrible move. Manchester City won their match 3-1 with 37 shots & 16 shots on target (ridiculous numbers).

Worst Beat: Bayern Munich -1.5 -110

Everyone in the world was on this line. And of course, in the 90+5’ minute, Manchester United scores a free kick from way outside the box to score their third goal and absolutely crush this line. Vegas definitely made a big check with this one. See below (Seconds after 3rd goal scored):
